Services), Cert. IV Workplace Training & Assessment, Youth and Family
Worker and trained Mediator. From working regularly in schools as a group facilitator and student counsellor, to developing and implementing many training programs. These have included topics such as conflict resolution, peer mediation, self-esteem and general personal development programs for adolescents. |
Since this time, Sarah has been working as a youth and family support worker on the Sunshine Coast which has involved using various strategies in working with families, including mediation. This has also involved having regular involvement with schools and the various personnel within them.
As well as being experienced in youth, family and community work, Sarah is also an experienced trainer/facilitator and is currently further developing her practice in the area of workplace training for the education, community and business sectors.

Mediation
Services:
Specialising
in parent/adolescent mediation.
Peer Mediation:
These include the peer mediation program which trains students in conflict
resolution and mediation practices so that they can mediate disputes between
other students. Teachers are also trained in the program and schools can
purchase materials to enable them to implement the program independently.
Conflict Resolution:
Generalist conflict resolution programs are available through conflictsolvers.com.au
also. These can be provided to either students or staff and can be implemented
over anything from a few hours to full day training sessions.
Senior School T.E.A.M. (Together Everyone Achieves More)-Peer Support:
This program was developed to provide practical skills to Senior students
at a time when study pressures and anxiety are high in their final years.
The program is provided as a one day practical workshop that will allow
Year 11 & 12 students to participate in a series of activities that will
assist them in supporting each other.
Skill developments in setting up their own support group, problem solving,
teamwork and how to communicate are covered in this day. Students can
expect that at the end of the day, they will come away with a clear process
of being able to work with others in Years 11 & 12 in a constructive way.
