Course Outline       

MEDIATION
is a process of conflict resolution that facilitates the communication between people and helps those in conflict understand the other person’s point of view.

This intensive 3 day course of Mediation Training is for professionals who wish to learn the skills required for creative conflict resolution i.e. to develop knowledge and techniques of mediation which will be useful in your present job.

The course also allows a deeper understanding of how conflict occurs and how the language we use can affect others.

The course has an excellent theoretical component but also provides hands-on work with a substantial number of practical tips included.

Those completing the course will be able to mediate in a range of situations including; Family, Parent/Adolescent, Workplace, Neighbourhood disputes and Restorative Justice Mediation *(new).

Training includes comprehensive notes, morning and afternoon teas, and lunch each day.

9.15am to 4.30pm each day
Cost: $375.00

Please note: Payments made 30 days prior to a course offer a $50 discount from total or if two or more persons attend the same discount applies i.e. $50 savings per participant.

Trainer Profile


Fred Stern (Senior Trainer)


As a mediator and trainer for over 13 years, Fred not only brings a wealth of experience to the field of conflict resolution and in particular mediation but is considered one of Australia’s longest serving and experienced mediators. He is able to use his wealth of experience to bring both depth and richness to training courses with participants often commenting on his use of humor and great style in presenting such complex skills. Fred has currently trained in excess of 2000 adults and students in a range of both professional skills courses as well as peer mediation. Fred is known in the mediation field for his high profile work in the area of peer mediation in both primary and secondary schools. He has authored a manual “Mediation in Schools” – creating a hassle free environment”. Fred’s work with schools has earned him two awards. In 1996, his school program won a “schools excellence award for the Barwon Region” whilst in 1997 his mediation program won a national award as a best practice “anti-violence” program.
